Yes, we had a dusting of snow 12/26/2016 Home Life: Hello Nati-kins! Happy Holidays to all of you! Life has been quiet this holiday season. If I was at my Virginia home, I'd be surrounded by Christmas cheer and tons of family. Here in Albuquerque, with no family within shouting distance, I don't do much. I have a fake ficus that I decorate with lights and that is plenty sufficient for me. Chris has asperger's autism so doesn't much care about celebratory folderole. Makes it easy. Rainy Days and Thursdays... 12/22/2016 Home Life: Rainy, cold day today. I worked on my webpages most of the day and finally launched them this evening—natburns.com and natburns.org. Made some lovely veggie soup for dinner and Chris brought home some zucchini tamales that were ordered from work. I don’t know….the filling was nice but masa is not one of my favorite flavors. Enjoyed the soup though. Weird thing happened—I totally forgot to eat breakfast. The juice satisfied me from 7 am all the way until about 1 pm. Must be getting all

A Very Happy Yule! 12/20/2016 Home Life: A very happy Yule! Again, not so very much in the Christmas spirit this year but Yule was greeted warmly. Chris and I went with friends to see Moana, the animated Disney film. It was amazingly animated and very empowering to females, especially young girls. It was a lovely, friendly evening, one which I will long cherish. Writing Life: I really can’t believe it is already 20th December. The new year is rushing toward me quickly. I have a few new resolutions. One is to market my work

It's the holidays at last! 12/18/2016 Home Life: Lovely slow morning. We had juice and read for a couple hours on the trusty old Kindle reader. Working on reading Andrew Saul’s book Doctor Yourself. Amazing! He talks about using mega doses of vitamins to cure illness. Starting reading him looking for a “psoriasis” helper and was caught up by his sense of humor and vitamin knowledge. Chris is reading The Autoimmune Fix by Dr. Tom O’bryan. Spent a lot of the day trying to find good flights for my two sisters who are coming to visit in

Musings from Thursday through Saturday 12/15/2016 Home Life: Not home much today. My friend Kay picked me up for lunch and we trekked out to O’Niells pub. Had a great lunch with a group of writer/reader friends. Chris and I went out this evening to take in all the holiday lights around the city. We were picked up by two old friends, Son and Ash and stopped for Starbucks lattes then drove around laughing and chatting for a few hours. There was lots of oohing and ahhing. The Juiciest Juice 12/14/2016 Wednesday Home Life: Today was a home day so I was able to rise and juice somewhat leisurely. I double this recipe because it’s for Chris and for me. I usually use regular Kale from Sprouts and I add 1-2 radishes, a carrot, some parsley and one orange. I’ve got a great system set up—I bought 7 flat plastic containers with tops. Like this but a bit deeper. I clean my veggie bounty and layer the greens in the bottom, adding each ingredient from the lists above. I peel the orange but leave it

Very busy Tuesday 12/13/2016 Tuesday Hello friends and family-- Home Life: Today was one busy day. It started with a groggy wakeup (not really sure why), then coffee and fakish juice from a bottle. Yes, it was V-8, a favorite, true, but this new one, called Caribbean Green, was loaded with coconut water. A bit of a shock. We didn't do our regular fresh juice because the housekeeper, our beloved Jenny, was coming to clean up all the cat debris and I needed to shower and change before her crew got here.
